Some of you know if you follow me on Twitter or Facebook that I have recently redesigned my personal logo. I used my signature for years as my logo but I didn’t feel like it represented me well as a whole.

The new logo, you can see it to the left of this post, represents my personality much more than a vectorized scribble ever could. Here’s the break down:

It’s a symbol of my work. Those of you that know me for my work with Bright Black know that in every logo I design I try to keep clean lines. I wanted to bring this methodology to my own logo.

It’s a symbol of my faith (sort of). Up until a couple years ago I considered myself to be Wiccan. While that specific religion, in fact no religion, feels right to me anymore, I still identify with many of the Pagan practices. The pagans use a five-pointed star, or pentagram, as their symbol of faith much like the Christians use a crucifix.

It’s a symbol of my attitude. I pride myself on my ability to shatter stereotypes. I can be an asshole but I’m really a sweet guy This logo has the sharpness of heavy metal and the elegance of an opera singer.

Overall, I think my new logo represents me very well. I personally love it, which I guess is a good thing seeing as it’s mine.
