I thought it would be a good opportunity to vent for a few minutes about things I see on the interwebs that flat out annoy me.
I see all the time when I visit a forum or blog post about some of my favorite bands. Some kid, yes, I am sure he’s a kid (and male) because I refuse to believe anyone who would be considered an adult can act so ignorant. It’s a well documented fact that there will always be “fans” who have a reference to the band in their user name and thinks that his favorite band is the ONLY good band and you are a fag if you don’t like it.
Just for the sake of fairness this doesn’t happen only on Korn sites. Here’s one from a Slipknot post.
His user name is so metal it hurts...
Then there is always this guy… he is almost as prominent as the super fans. This is the guy who either digs the band but jumps on the “XYZ Band sucks because they are actually selling records” bandwagon or they really do hate the band and have far, far too much free time.
Well he's convinced me...
And yes, I left the user names readable because if your are that blind then you deserve for people to hunt you down and flame you. *I mean no disrespect to those who are actually blind.
Look, everyone is entitled to their opinions. If not I wouldn’t have anything for you to read. I love Korn and Slipknot. Yes, neither band is what they were when they started (OVER A DECADE AGO) but are you? Are you the same person you were ten years ago? No, I doubt t. Bands are people and people change. Bands are also businesses and business make money (well, try to) so if that means they are making a radio friendly single on the next album cut them some slack. If it weren’t for those songs they wouldn’t have the cash to make songs that melt your face. I guess the moral of the story is that things are never black and white, unless you are a dog. Now that I have gotten all Jerry’s Final Thought on you what say you?
