Throw on some Salsa Cubano and cook these beans low and slow.

Ingredients

  • 3 strips bacon (chopped small)
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 (15.5 ounce) can black beans, drained
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 sweet onion, chopped
  • 1/2 (12 ounce) can light beer
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped cilantro

Directions

In a skillet, cook bacon on medium heat to render the fat out. Add the garlic onion and jalapeno. Cook and stir 10 minutes. Pour in the black beans ,beer and cilantro. Simmer on low until thick, about 30 minutes.

Pairs very well with yellow rice and Caribbean Shrimp.
